Today marks the 6th anniversary of dothackers! For all intents purposes the website should have been put in a old peoples home by now - but dothackers is an old cranky rebel!

As always, a big thanks to everyone who keeps visiting dothackers and collectively made the site what it is today! 'Til the death of .hack we'll be here (which will never ever ever happen despite CC2's ramblings...)!

To celebrate both the release of the .hack//G.U. Trilogy CG movie and dothackers 6th birthday, one lucky dothackers twitter follower will receive a FREE copy on us! Entry is open to everyone residing in the United States.

How to enter
Sign up for a Twitter account and follow dothackers with your newly created account. After you're all setup send an @reply to dothackers with the following message: Happy b-day dothackers! One entry per person, please!

How do I find out if I've won?
On August 9th (dothackers 6th birthday) a randomly selected follower who sent us an @reply will be picked as the winner. Dothackers will contact you via Twitter and get the appropirate information from you!





Pre-Order .hack//G.U. Trilogy Now! Out August 18th!

A $14.99 pre-order special for .hack//G.U. Trilogy has appeared on Amazon.com. .hack//G.U. Trilogy is a 85 minute CG animation to be released on DVD. Directed by the G.U. games director and CC2 president Hiroshi "Piros" Matsuyama himself, Trilogy retells the story of the //G.U. games, with a new level of cinematic detail beyond what can be done in a PS2 game. There will be no dub version of .hack//G.U. Trilogy released in the United States.





.hack//G.U. Trilogy Delayed, No Dub Release

According to Mania.com (previously named Anime on DVD), the U.S. release date for .hack//G.U. Trilogy has been pushed back to August 18th by Bandai Entertainment. In addition to this, Mania.com has learned that there will be no English dubbing of //G.U. Trilogy. It is unknown as to why Bandai-ent decided to not opt for an english voice over cast for the highly anticipated CG movie, which retells the story of the //G.U. PS2 video games.

Amazon.com has Trilogy listed as a pre-order price of $13.99, although I would hold off as the posting on the site doesn't seem to be legit to me (some information and formatting problems).

Disappointed? I know a lot of people were fond of the VA cast in the games and hoped they'd reprise their roles in the CG movie. Sound off on the message board or comment section. Thanks to Orion for pointing this out on the boards!


Anime Central 2009 Panel Overview!!!

Alright where to begin... First off, I already knew we had a kickass .hack fanbase from running dothackers over the last 6 years... but seeing TONS of fans in real life make it kickass x100 (or insert over 9000 joke here)! Anime Central is one amazing weekend and if you get a chance to visit the convention you would be insane to pass it up - this was my second year attending the con.





Chris (Kuukai) and I spent about a month or so planning and tweaking the .hack panel, which was formally named "Welcome to "The World" - All About .hack" at ACen. A lot of powerpoint jadedness set in during the creation and moments where this popped up: "holy crap how can we fit the ENTIRE .hack universe into an hour long panel?!!!" were frequent. The answer to that question is that you can't! I speak for both Chris and myself by saying that it was well worth the effort! We want to thank everyone who made it out to the panel and the 10 or so people who were from dothackers and following us on Twitter!





Also, a big shout out to the three .hack cosplayers at our panel, who were ironically from three different .hack media - Tsukasa, Kite and Haseo! Pictures of all the .hack cosplayers are below (or above...), in addition to pictures of our panel. Next year we may do a longer panel, but we will see what the future holds. It seems almost 100% certain that we will be back at ACen 2010, because it was so much fun!
