This week I had the most honorable chance to interview Naomi Kokubo, translator of the .hack//legend of the twilight mangas and the upcoming AI Buster. Naomi was nice enough to answer all the questions I asked her. Give the interview a read, as it may answer some lingering questions. Post any comments or questions you have regarding the interview in the comments section. |

Update: TOKYOPOP has released more info on AI Buster's background, and has created a definate .hack novel page too. Also, an image of Lycoris (a "failed" version of Aura) has been released. TOKYOPOP has also released more names of characters in AI Buster. Albireo, Balmung, Lycoris, and Orca are listed as characters. ![]() Synopsis: "AI BUSTER, the prequel to .hack//SIGN, is the story of Albireo, a debugger, who used to play 'Fragments,' the beta version of 'The World.' Albireo encounters Lycoris, whom he assumes is an event NPC (an AI character) but she's actually a failed version of Aura. She is blind, deaf, and mute, because Albireo debugged her and broke up important files. The missing files are hidden as items in the World, and when returned to Lycoris, she gets a function back. When she gains them all, she changes into a teenage form with purple hair who looks like Aura. Because of his acquaintance with Lycoris, Albireo cannot log out of the game and exit the World ..." ------ Many of you pointed out and have noticed that AI Buster is no longer on TOKYOPOP's website. I e-mailed Naomi Kukobo, the translator of the popular legend of the twilight mangas and here is what she had to say: "I have translated the novel, and as far as I know, it is to be published. However, I do not know if TOKYOPOP decided to delay the release date." Relax and breathe. If any more information becomes available it will be posted here. |

Today, Bandai America has officially stated their newly created video game subsidiary, "Bandai Games Inc". Whether or not this newly established company will have any ties with a possible .hack MMORPG is anyone's guess. Be sure to check back during E3 (May 17th-20th) for any news regarding .hack//Online and Project GU and a chance to win .hack//AI Buster for free in April. |
