Post .hack//G.U. madness- G.U. fan theories + G.U. E3 pics
Posted on: May 25 2005 by Dave | Discuss on BBS |
As many of you know, the G.U. trailer was shown at E3 2005. CC2 has updated the site with pics, and extended the G.U. site promotion.

Send your G.U. theories here, or post them in the comments section. You theory might end up on the site.

Directly following the release of the G.U. press announcement and then the trailer, this site's traffic quadrupled! Good, keep on visiting! Although the site's media server has taken a hit, the trailer will still be available to download via mirrors from nice individuals. Nothing else is new to report. In two days the "promotion" site will be taken down as stated by CC2. Maybe they'll put up some new info on the 27th? As stated in the previous news post, the hidden text on CC2's news section has been translated. It basically teases us about a "1 + 1" combo--hinting about an anime that will coincide with the .hack//G.U. games. Stay close to the site, new info might spring up any minute.

Update: May 24th
The little hidden text I mentioned a couple of days ago has been translated.

"It's already 2 years since then, no, 2 and a half? nono, so it was already 3 years...hmm? This feels strange... The previous story has come to an end. oh, it was mentioned at the top but i'll reveil little by little (that's all for today) hope you'll give me more time. This time, it's really...hot. ya, i think it should. ...just have to wait a while. so, whatever you ask I won't answer now. ...I hope we can get together then. which episode is this? hope.. this time will be a 1+1 combination, hope TV animation and Manga? Hope... Sorry sorry, but there's still a little [more] that has to be done (please wait)..."

Well written fan theories on G.U. wanted! Send your theories-thoughs on G.U. here. They will be posted on the site, so include your name and age.

In an Interview with Hiroshi Matsuyama, President of CC2, he states that G.U. will be three separate games. The three games will be their own games (not like infection through quarantine). The G.U. games will take place in the year 2017, seven years after the previous games. Since the events of the previous games, a cataclysmic event has caused "The World" to begin to evolve on its own. "PKs" (Player Killers) are now roaming the world, though it is not sure how they have come to be. Matsuyama stated in RPGfan's interview that G.U. is 60% complete. The first part of the G.U. series is larger and longer than the four previous games combined. The first game is slated to be released in 2006.

There's a blurb on CC2's G.U. News section about a manga/anime regarding .hack//G.U. The text is hidden. Highlight where the text seems to end, and you'll see what I mean. I'll try and get it properly translated very soon.

More .hack anime to come- Newtype
Posted on: Mar 29 2005 by Dave | Discuss on BBS |
Long time member of the message board, crosbie394 pointed out that .hack was mentioned in this Month's Newtype Issue.

Quoted: "the .hack world proved popular and continued to grow with additional anime as well as manga series. Mashimo teasingly mentions that there's more to come. "It's this huge project, you see, and there's a lot of speculation about what's going to happen, but we're proceeding slowly with it."

Scanned image of article is now up thanks to DRC. (click picture for larger picture to read the text.) The quote itself is confusing on the first read, but read it again. I believe Mashimo is talking about another part of the ".hack project" in the works. Post your opinion.

Interview with Naomi Kukubo
Posted on: Mar 11 2005 by Dave | Discuss on BBS |
This week I had the most honorable chance to interview Naomi Kokubo, translator of the .hack//legend of the twilight mangas and the upcoming AI Buster. Naomi was nice enough to answer all the questions I asked her. Give the interview a read, as it may answer some lingering questions. Post any comments or questions you have regarding the interview in the comments section.
