New CC2 Game. New .hack?

For those of you who didn't know, CyberConnect2 is already hard at work on a next-gen action game for the PS3, which will be officially announced on July 7th. While the teaser page on their website hints that it's an adaptation of the popular manga 666 Satan, .hack fans need not lose hope as the company has recently begun to hint at a future .hack title.

CC2 President Hiroshi Matsuyama recently sat down to answer questions for English-speaking fans over at Altimit Corp. The Japanese site Game Watch also interviewed him, gleaning slightly more direct answers about the future of .hack. Part of the interview is translated here.

.hack//G.U.+ manga to be released February '08

According to Anime News Network, the manga adaptation of the .hack//G.U. storyline, .hack//G.U.+ (pronounced dot hack gu plus), has been licensed by Tokyopop. .hack//G.U.+ is scheduled to release on February 12, 2008 in the United States. No word on how many volumes .hack//G.U.+ will have. .hack//G.U.+ is serialized in Japan via "The World" magazine. More information as the release date draws nearer!

According to the official press release on Namco Bandai's website, .hack//G.U. Vol. 3//Redemption is scheduled to release this Fall in the United States. The release of the third volume will close the books on the //G.U. Trilogy.
