Kiora's Space

Post by Kiora »

Well I'm no pro but I do like to draw. I use a Wacom tablet, Photoshop CS, Open Canvas 1, and anything else I can get my hands on. (Paper, pencil, a digital camera, etc.)

I've recently been using a confusing Flash-based application called an Oekaki board. You can find tons of them on the internet. I haven't uploaded any of my oekaki'd pieces to my website yet, but here are some that have been sitting on my site for a while now. The oekaki art is located a http://hykiora.deviantart.com/

I've currently good a picture of BlackRose over fifty percent completed, but I'm not entirely certain it'll leave it's current form.

I've sketched it, outlined it, and put most of the base color down... Not I need to add the rest of the base color and shade it. There's something about the lines bothering me though so I'm hesitant to finish it.

Awesome work! About the Blackrose, you should put it on, then do whatever you want to it, that way we can see a before & after thing!

Well if you really wanna see my sloppy coloring, plus some funny doodles and comments... :D Here ya go. :3
If you can't read my handwriting (hehe sometimes I can't read my own handwriting, don't worry!) it says: "Work in Progress. Wheee! Colored in Photoshop CS, Drawn in Open Canvas 1. I think I need to go find a reference pic and redo this."

I really hate how this was turning out, so I slapped the rest of the color on and left it sloppy looking. -_-

Thanks, but I think .hack art is too complex for me to draw. I shall leave its awesomeness to the people hired to draw 'em. *_*

Pretty good, but you may want to work on anatomy (heads mostly), shape/depth (hair), and shadowing/textures (clothing). Over all detail is important in artwork. Your line art and coloring also look a bit ragged, but that's something you can only fix with practice and time.

Very nice. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I'm sorry to get offended but you basically just said my art was ****. :/ Thanks for the "advice" that was originally intended, I suppose.

I don't believe I did. I simply offered constructive criticism on stuff that would help you perfect your artistic talent. When I look at someone's work, I always take a critical approach because, as I believe, that everyone has the ability to push themselves farther both mentally and physically if they acknowledge their strengths and weaknesses. By having an outside entity identify what they think your areas of weakness(es) are, you now know what other people think you should improve on and thus can release even better artwork next time. If I didn't like your work, I wouldn't have posted and kept my opinions to myself.

Um, Reigai, are you like a professional movie critic or something evil like that, maybe a lawer?

Lawyer? I don't think so...

Thanks for the advice, but the presentation was a little rough. It might just be my physical state effecting my judgment but I got offended. I'm sorry.

It's definitely good artwork, but like Reigai said it's not perfect. What do you use for anatomy reference? Usually having a reference model can make a huge difference in making good artwork into great artwork. :P

Reference pictures... I suppose they do help, but I think I stayed too close to mine. Sorry the quality's horrible, I don't have a scanner. ^^; And I had a coloring mishap on the elf's skin....The eyes are honestly meant to be yellow though

That's my favorite homosexual couple that my friend and I made up. :) They're partly based off of our Gaia Online avatars.

Uhh... I kinda like how this turned out. My friend had drawn something for me and I snapped myself out of an artists' block to draw something for her.

Ooh, very nice. I’m fond of the details with the folds of the skirt and the general pose. I'd love to see this scanned and digitally colored.
