The entire cast of playable .hack fighters is slowly being revealed, but confirmed characters include: Haseo, Tsukasa, Ovan, Sakuya, and Sora.

.hack//The Movie and .hack//Versus are set to be released together on June 28th, 2012 in Japan.

On the heels of the .hack//Versus fighting game announcement comes something even more unexpected!

Leaked screenshots of June's Famitsu cover reveals a cosplay look-a-like Haseo, which could be a teaser for the rumored .hack//LOVE THE WORLD live action J-Drama series. Six episodes have been initially created for the series set to debut in September. It is unknown if other .hack characters will be re-occurring or the plot of the series.

CC2 President Hiroshi Matsuyama did tease us with this: "Ever wanted to know what happened to Tsukasa and Subaru after the end of .hack//SIGN? Atoli and Haseo? Stay tuned...."

What we do know about the new game's combat system is that characters will be able to use Skills and Altimit Skills, and each will have a unique ability known as their "Exceed."

The game will be bundled with .hack//The Movie in a normal edition and "The World" edition. The normal edition will be ¥7,140 and include a deluxe foldout box and jacket and a mini-size movie pamphlet. "The World Edition" will apparently be ¥10,500, and in addition to those things it will contain:
-25 (incredibly-nostalgic) jacket-size posters
-A 48-page fullcolor concept book
-The storyboards for the movie
-A special DVD called the .hack//Extension Disc
-A special collector's box illustrated by Seiichiro Hosokawa, the main artist of .hack//G.U.

The plot centers around a mysterious character named "9" (Who looks a little like Tokio? Actually doesn't Tokio's last name begin with the Japanese character for 9? And he should be about 18 or 19 now, right? Nahh it's probably just a coincidence.)

However, I've got this feeling the majority of .hack fans weren't expecting a fighting game.

Famitsu reports that .hack//Versus and .hack//The Movie are scheduled to be released in a hybrid pack on June 28th in Japan. //Versus will have 3D support for equipped televisions.
